About FBC
In 2007 First Baptist Church celebrated 140 years of active service in the Toms River, Ocean County area. The church began with a small group of people meeting at a member’s home, and now over 200 people gather each week in our sanctuary to worship together.
Over the years, a church building was built in several phases and numerous programs and ministries were begun. As the church has grown and changed, First Baptist Church members have remained committed to knowing God, loving God, and serving God, as well as loving one another, and serving Ocean County and the world in the name of Jesus Christ.
It’s easy to fit into our diverse congregation, which is a combination of long-term members and people who have arrived in Ocean County more recently. We have members of all ages – as shown by our strong programs for children, teens, adults and senior adults! At First Baptist Church you’ll find some people who are lifelong Baptists, but many are from other church backgrounds or had little previous experience with Christianity.
