Existing for nearly 150 years, First Baptist Church seeks to connect the unconnected to Jesus. Our Sunday Morning worship service seeks to maintain the tension between the past and the future. Our music is contemporary but never lacking hymns, our sermons are conversational but never lacking deep bible exposition, and our leadership seeks to steer us towards reaching an ever changing world by connecting people to a God that has ever been the same.
What time should I arrive?
The service begins at 10:30am but we have a time of coffee and chit-chat beginning at 10am.
If you are interested, our Sunday School classes meet at 9:15am.
Where do I park?
We have ample parking space behind the church (accessible from Colfax St.), enter through the red oning that reads "welcome." There should be a greeter there with a bulletin, a smile and directions on where to go next.
What do I wear?
Dress in a way that helps you to feel comfortable. You will see everything from Suits to T-shirt and Jeans both on and off the platform.
What is the service like?
We meet for just over an hour with usual ending time around 11:45am. We begin with prayer and announcements, we worship through music together and worship by being challenged through the exposition of God's Word. The music, led by Gregg Giordano, is contemporary and guitar driven but still reflective. Pastor Andrew preaches most Sundays and employs a more conversational style. The first Sunday of every month we celebrate communion together and the service goes just a few minutes longer.
What do you have for my kids?
During the school year we have "Kidstown" a time of learning just for kids. This class incorporates children pre-K through 5th grade and is dismissed from the service after our time of music and singing. The children are brought back to the sanctuary at the end of the service. We also have Sunday School for children running from 9:15-10am. Nursery is available throughout the duration of both times for children 3 years of age and younger.
Where is the church?
