John Strain, Senior Pastor

Our senior pastor, John Strain, has served First Baptist Church since 1992.  He and his wife, Bobbie, have two grown children and five grandchildren.  He is a native Texan who has spent most of his years in ministry on the East Coast.

Trained at Baptist Bible College (Springfield, MO) and Wheaton College Graduate School, our pastor has served in leadership roles within the Baptist Bible Fellowship and the Conservative Baptist Association.  He currently serves on the board of the Mid-Atlantic Conservative Baptist Association. 

The desire of Pastor John’s heart is to live as yokefellow with Jesus Christ (Matthew 11:28-30) and to help others walk with Jesus.  Away from ministry, he enjoys reading, traveling with Bobbie and trying to learn how to paint with water colors.
